DURECO VON TER HRÜNE

Water stop & plastic-free

ter Hürne – manufacturer of engineered hardwood flooring and specialist for floor solutions from Südlohn in Münsterland – presents Dureco, its latest product range module, an almost completely organic floor, that is very water-resistant due to its intelligent technology product structure.

The new Dureco range from ter Hürne delivers what it promises. The prominently advertised attributes ‘Water Stop and plastic-free’ sum up the performance spectrum of the new floor in a nutshell. The exceptional resistance to standing water is achieved by the newly developed SEAL technology (see illustration for detailed description), a combination of various components, that together form effective protection. Two technologies stand out particularly in the water-resistant product structure.

An extremely dense wood composite baseboard (ExtremeDense), the core of the Dureco floor, in which very fine wood fibres are compressed together so tightly that moisture penetration is prevented to the maximum.

The second important top performer is SmartConnectPro, a click connection that, due to its special form of profiling, prevents water penetration on the edges of the planks and guarantees additional moisture protection. Dureco offers professional protection against moisture for up to 24 hours (based on the NALFA test).

The new floor from ter Hürne is ‘plastic-free’, mainly because of the choice of product materials. Dureco consists of up to 90% organic raw materials. The majority of these are wood-based materials that originate form PEFC-certified sustainable forestry. The Südlohn floor thus has an obligation to ensure that Dureco is eco-certified and awarded the Blue Angel.

"Dureco is our answer to the rising demand from consumers for waterproof and durable floors with an ecological footprint. The attractively priced floor is a very interesting proposition for consumers who are looking for a product made from natural and sustainable materials. In addition, with its modern performance profile, robust in the face of the rigours of everyday life, Dureco is particularly interesting when it occasionally gets wet," says Torsten Nienhaus, General Sales Manager, explaining the latest product highlight from ter Hürne. ‘"The new range consists of 20 on-trend designs in plank and tile formats, and is presented compactly and in a space-saving manner for the showroom displays," continues Torsten Nienhaus.

The floor obtains its robust character partly from its corundum/high-grade resin coating, which has an abrasion class of AC5 and a usage class of 23/33, thus also making it suitable for commercial use beyond the residential segment.
