Wood awakens the nature in you

We use hardwoods for the surface layer of your ter Hürne natural engineered hardwood flooring. Hardwood has many fibres and a narrow vascular structure. It is a strong and heavy wood. Hardwoods display more colours and a more vibrant, curved grain structure. You can see and feel the grain in the form of veins, mirrors and pores.

Oak

With oak, there is no great difference in colour between the heartwood and the sapwood. The sapwood of the oak ranges from two to eight centimetres thick, depending on the age of the tree.

Esche

Due to the high quality of its wood, ash is one of the most important natural timbers in Central Europe. Unlike many other species of wood, it is characterised by its hardness and elasticity.

Walnut

The wood from the walnut tree is often considered one of the most valuable of the native species of timber. Walnut wood is available in small quantities. It is not a forest tree. You find it in gardens and parks.

Canadian Maple

Der kanadische Ahorn ist einer der härtesten Holzarten. Deshalb trägt er den weiteren Namen Hardmaple. Diese Holzart ist häufig gelblichweiß bis weiß.

Beech

The sapwood of beech extends across the entire cross-section. Beech only starts to form heartwood from the age of 80, and then under certain circumstances.

American Cherry

The sapwood of the cherry tree is 25–50 mm wide. You can recognise it by its creamy colour. The heartwood is clearly distinguishable by its reddish colour.

Bamboo

Bamboo is not a tree. Botanically speaking, it belongs to the grasses. Grasses become woody over time. In a tree, the outer sapwood is soft and the inner heartwood is hard.
